Smile Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and values-driven secondary school in Oldham to recruit a passionate and committed Mathematics specialist. The role is suitable for experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and individuals with strong experience delivering Mathematics in an educational setting, with opportunities available for an immediate start.   Role Overview As a Mathematics specialist, you will be responsible for delivering Maths across KS3 and KS4, supporting students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of key mathematical concepts. A key focus of the role will be preparing students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress for pupils of all abilities. Depending on the placement, opportunities may include: Long-term cover Temp-to-perm roles Supply or block placements, including Guaranteed Pay Scheme optionsThis role is ideal for individuals looking to build consistency and strong relationships within secondary schools across Oldham.   Key Responsibilities Deliver Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 Prepare students effectively for GCSE Maths examinations Teach in line with the national curriculum, ensuring strong progress and attainment Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted support where required Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Contribute to the wider Maths department and school community Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations  Requirements The successful candidate will: Have experience delivering Mathematics within a secondary school or educational setting Possess strong subject knowledge in Mathematics (a degree in Maths or a related field is desirable) Demonstrate effective teaching or classroom delivery skills, including supporting students towards GCSE outcomes Exhibit confident classroom and behaviour management skills Be professional, reliable, and adaptable Have a genuine passion for Mathematics and student achievement Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) Have the right to work in the UK  Pay & Benefits £170 – £235 per day, dependent on experience and role responsibilities Long-term, stable placements Full-time roles with potential part-time flexibility Dedicated support from experienced education consultants Ongoing guidance throughout your placement Opportunities to secure permanent roles within Oldham schools  Safeguarding & Compliance Smile Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
