Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Mon–Thu 8:00am – 4:30pm, Fri 8:00am – 3:30pm

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Bonus Structure (10%)

The Role of Mechanical Design Engineer:-

As a key contributor to the engineering team, you will be vital in designing and developing mechanical systems that meet the company’s high standards of quality and innovation. This role offers the opportunity to see your designs move from concept through to manufacturing, providing exceptional solutions across various industries.

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer:-

  * 

    Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.

  * 

    Create detailed schematics, manufacturing drawings, and system designs.

  * 

    Carry out mathematical structural calculations for design creation and analysis.

  * 

    Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve design or manufacturing issues.

  * 

    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet exact technical specifications.

The Mechanical Design Engineer Will Have:

  * 

    Proven, practical experience in a mechanical design engineering role.

  * 

    High proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, and schematic creation.

  * 

    A working knowledge of SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) is highly beneficial, but not a pre-requisite as full training can be provided.

  * 

    Strong foundational mechanical knowledge with a robust understanding of system design.

  * 

    Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting.

  * 

    Excellent communication skills and a naturally collaborative approach to teamwork.

Qualifications & Requirements

  * 

    A Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field).

  * 

    Valid right to work in the UK.
