Job Title: Electrical Mobile Authorised Person (Mobile Role)
Location: East Region – Covering RAF Honington, RAF Wyton & Wattisham Flying Station
Contract Type: Permanent/ Full-Time
Salary Information: Up to £45,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance
Mainstay Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer for our prestigious client for a role in the East Region of England.
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and timely delivery of engineering services across multiple defence sites in the East Region. Working closely with site teams, contractors, and end users, you'll provide technical leadership and help maintain compliance with MOD Safe Systems of Work, particularly JSP375.
This is a hands-on role where your responsibilities will include:
• Assessing and supporting the competence of skilled staff
• Producing high-quality risk assessments and method statements
• Advising on project delivery, operational safety, and compliance issues
• Supporting the MOD’s carbon reduction initiatives
• Supervising and mentoring Skilled Persons to ensure safety and capability
• Liaising with senior management and stakeholders to support estate safety
What We’re Looking For
• Fully qualified Electrical Engineer
• AP (Authorised Person) status in Electrical Engineering would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Safe Systems of Work and JSP375
• Proven ability to manage site operations, lead teams, and resolve technical issues
• A full UK driving licence is essential
• Willingness to take part in an on-call rota as required
You’ll need to be proactive, independent, and comfortable travelling between sites. This is a role where you'll have a tangible impact on critical operations, working within a fast- paced and regulated environment.
