Mobile Plant Mechanical Technician

Salary: £62,500 (+ Bonus up to £5,500)

Shift: Panama - 2s and 3s (Days and Nights)

Location: London Gateway Port, Stanford-le-Hope

As a key member of the site engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of mobile plant equipment. Skills Required for the Mechanical Technician:

Recognised mechanical qualification (Min NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3)
Proven experience in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of mobile plant machinery (e.g. reach stackers, cranes, container handlers, forklifts)
Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Competence in fault-finding and preventative maintenance on heavy mechanical systems
Duties of the Mechanical Technician:

Perform mechanical maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of mobile plant machinery used in port and logistics operations
Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime
Carry out preventative maintenance schedules and equipment inspections
Support installation, overhaul, and modification of mechanical systems and components
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
