Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: Aylesham, Kent
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the packaging industry, is seeking a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and supporting engineering projects to ensure smooth production operations. The role involves working on electrical installations up to 430V, PLCs, and VSDs, as well as mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Perform PPM and address reactive maintenance issues promptly.

  * Diagnose and repair faults to minimise downtime.

  * Support engineering projects, including equipment installation and commissioning.

  * Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

  * Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to health and safety standards.

  * Collaborate with production teams and external suppliers to ensure efficiency.

Requirements:

  * NVQ Level 3+ in Engineering or equivalent qualification/apprenticeship.

  * Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including fault-finding skills.

  * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  * Proven experience in a similar role within manufacturing or FMCG.

  * Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive approach.

  * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
