Job description
Type: Full time | 06:00 -14:10 & 14:00 – 22:10 | Weekly Rotational
Scope of the Position:
To provide all departments with safe, reliable, and well-maintained equipment, ensuring the ability to meet production and quality targets in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out engineering duties involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
* Perform both reactive and planned maintenance to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
* Ensure all associated lighting and power are in proper working order & and meet all codes and company procedures
* Complete all relevant documentation including work orders, time sheets, and shift handover reports.
* Proactively support and implement continuous improvement initiatives on the production line.
* Perform routine testing of all plant equipment
* Accurately record parts usage in the tool crib system to maintain correct inventory levels.
* Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in accordance with schedule.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organized work area at all times.
* Complete standard work tasks as assigned.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement programs, including Kaizen and GEAR activities.
* Follow all departmental procedures and company policies as outlined in the Level III Procedure Manual.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, including customer-specific and government regulations (e.g., ISO & IATF 16949).
* Identify and stop any process where safety or quality concerns arise.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Key Areas of Authority:
* Contribute to achieving departmental goals in line with the company’s business plan.
* Comply with all company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
* Exercise authority to stop any process that compromises safety or product quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Completed mechanical apprenticeship or company-trained with multi-skilled capabilities including basic electrical knowledge.
* Proven experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Understanding of IATF 16949 standards and procedures (preferred).
* Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
* Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
* Strong awareness of health and safety in an engineering environment.
