Are you an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager looking for your next opportunity? We are a well-established, family-run group of nurseries seeking an exceptional Nursery Manager to lead our flagship setting in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Founded in 2011, our nurseries have grown through a strong reputation for quality childcare, a nurturing environment, and a commitment to staff development.

The successful Nursery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of a busy and vibrant nursery that cares for up to 95 children aged between 3 months and 5 years. You will ensure that every child receives the highest standard of care and education, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.

As Nursery Manager, you will inspire, lead, and develop a dedicated team of up to 25 staff members, ensuring that practice across the nursery remains outstanding. You will play a key role in maintaining our family ethos while driving continuous improvement and supporting staff to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Manager include:

  * Overseeing all aspects of nursery operations and compliance.

  * Leading and motivating a team to deliver high-quality childcare and education.

  * Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed.

  * Maintaining strong partnerships with parents, staff, and the local community.

  * Managing budgets, staffing, and administrative duties efficiently.

Essential Requirements:

  * Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (higher desirable).

  * At least five years’ experience in a nursery setting, including one year in a managerial role.

  * Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted standards.

  * Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

  * A flexible, hands-on approach – willing to step into rooms when required.

As part of our safer recruitment process, the appointed Nursery Manager will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide two references, including one from their most recent employer.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per year, depending on experience.
