Ocean Freight Coordinator - Houston, TX $55,000 - $65,000 per year
An established international freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Coordinator to join their growing team in Houston. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is proficient in coordinating international shipments from end to end.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle ocean import and export operations, including booking, documentation, and shipment tracking.
Communicate daily with carriers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and accurate cargo movement.
Prepare and review key documents (B/Ls, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs entries).
Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve exceptions or delays.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
2+ years' experience in ocean freight coordination or international logistics.
Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and documentation standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in logistics software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits:
