Job Title: Operations Technician
Location: Outskirts of Thetford
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Available Overtime
Shift Pattern: Double Day Shifts (rotating and staggered)
Summary
We are seeking a practical and safety-conscious Operations Technician to support the day-to-day running of a large process factory near Thetford.
This role is hands-on, focusing on keeping material moving safely through the feed system, carrying out inspections, and providing operational support to the shift teams.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the safe and continuous running of the raw material feed system.
Clear blockages in conveyors and hoppers as required.
Perform first-line checks and routine inspections of plant equipment.
Assist shift teams with general housekeeping and factory operation.
Operate the gantry crane as part of daily operations – training will be provided
Carry out minor first-line maintenance tasks to maintain reliability and minimise downtime.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in an industrial, process, or heavy plant environment is desirable.
Ability to operate equipment such as gantry cranes, forklifts, or telehandlers preferred (training provided if required).
Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
A proactive, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
A mechanical mindset with strong problem-solving ability is preferred.
Own vehicle is essential due to location
