Job Description

AEM Limited has been Europe's leading independent overhaul and repair facility for more than 60 years. The company has a solid reputation in the aerospace industry for providing a broad range of services to international and regional airlines, helicopter operators and airframe manufacturers.

We are currently looking for an Plating Team Leader for our Ramsgate site.

Purpose of role

  * To efficiently and effectively deliver the day-to-day operations of the Plating and Shot Peen departments.

  * Support the control of Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality issues, maintaining compliance with all industry standard regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  * Process components within the plating department or shot peen department

  * Plan and schedule workload in line with the site production schedule.

  * Development and maintenance of strong team morale and team working.

  * Support implementation of all standard operating practices and procedures.

  * Identify training and development opportunities for team members.

  * Manage first level discipline and grievance issues for team members.

  * Maintain the function of plant and equipment to include machine maintenance (preventative and scheduled).

  * Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.

  * Support the implementation of new product development initiatives.

Experience

  * Experience within the Engineering Industry

  * Prior experience in a production workshop environment

  * Prior experience of leading teams

  * Computer literate – competent in Microsoft Office

  * Understanding and implementation of lean process principles and their applications

Qualifications and Competencies

  * An ability to work to tight deadlines

  * Customer focused and able to build and maintain robust customer relationships

  * Able to manage and develop a team in a demanding, customer focused working environment

  * An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills; capable of communicating accurate and concise information at all levels

  * Results orientated; able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

  * Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills

  * Excellent attention to detail. Able to interpret and follow in detail compliance manuals.

  * Organised and able to work well under pressure.

  * Enthusiastic and motivational
