Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Consultant with a solid foundation in management consulting and digital transformation advisory within the telecom sector.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in customer experience transformation, operating model design, and strategic business transformations such as divestitures, carve-outs, and business separation.
This role involves shaping and delivering value-driven initiatives across brand, value proposition, customer lifecycle, and internal telecom functions such as marketing, sales, product, commercial, and technology enablement. The consultant should be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, developing strategic insights, and leading large-scale transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver target operating model (TOM) design and implementation initiatives for telecom clients across B2B, B2C, and B2B2C domains.
- Lead consulting engagements that involve divestiture strategy, business separation, transitional service agreement (TSA) planning, and post-divestiture transformation.
- Analyze and assess current business processes, capabilities, and structures to recommend “fit-for-future” organizational models aligned with digital strategy.
- Apply structured consulting methodologies to gather and interpret data, generate insights, and develop actionable strategies.
- Design and deliver compelling client presentations, business cases, and transformation roadmaps.
- Conduct workshops and interviews with senior executives (CxOs, VPs, Directors) to align stakeholders and shape transformation agendas.
- Support or lead engagements related to customer experience strategy, go-to-market redesign, and customer journey optimization.
- Work closely with business and IT teams to ensure alignment of strategy with execution, including support for enterprise architecture and systems impact analysis.
Key Skills & Experience Required
Soft Skills:
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior client stakeholders across business and technology domains.
- Proven experience in facilitating assessments, workshops, and strategic interviews with senior leadership teams.
Consulting & Domain Skills:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in management or strategy consulting, with a focus on telecom and digital transformation.
- Deep understanding of Telecom Operating Models, including both integrated and separated environments (divestitures, M&A, carve-outs).
- Proven track record of defining and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs) across multiple telecom functions.
- Hands-on experience supporting divestitures, spin-offs, and TSAs including readiness assessments and future-state capability design.
- Familiarity with telecom frameworks such as eTOM, TM Forum, and ITIL.
- Functional understanding of OSS/BSS systems, Enterprise Management Functions, and fiber broadband services.
- Prior involvement in designing As-Is and To-Be processes for customer journeys and internal telecom functions like sales, marketing, finance, legal, and product.
- Exposure to Data Architecture, segregation analysis, and data modeling practices.
- Awareness of Enterprise IT Architecture and the functional/non-functional impact on internal and customer-facing applications.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data and deliver strategic recommendations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to link technical initiatives to business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Tier-1 consulting firms or working with major telecom service providers.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or Technology.
- Certifications in TOGAF, ITIL, or related frameworks will be a plus.
