Procurement Manager
Pure Resourcing are supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation entering an exciting phase of operational and strategic evolution. As part of the businesses journey, we are looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager who can take real ownership of a developing function and drive meaningful change across the business.
This is a role for someone who thrives on both strategy and delivery — a confident, influential procurement professional who enjoys shaping processes and elevating standards. You’ll be the key link between procurement and the wider supply chain, working closely with senior stakeholders to embed an effective, future-proof approach to sourcing, supplier management and cost control.
A core part of your remit will involve building and maintaining resilient supplier relationships, ensuring commercial value, risk mitigation and continuous improvement are at the heart of every decision. You’ll also take responsibility for planning and coordinating material requirements, striking the right balance between availability, efficiency and operational continuity.
You’ll have immediate line-management responsibility for a Buyer, playing an active role in their development, coaching and day-to-day support.
What We’re Looking For
CIPS Qualified
Strong background in procurement leadership within FMCG manufacturing
Track record of developing and delivering high-impact procurement strategies
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
Confident negotiator with outstanding supplier management skills
Comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic environmentKey Skills
Commercially sharp with excellent analytical and financial capability
Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
Strategic mindset paired with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel
Self-driven, proactive and results-focusedKey Role Responsibilities
Shape and deliver a forward-thinking procurement strategy aligned with operational and long-term business goals
Source, assess and manage suppliers across materials, packaging and indirect services
Collaborate with the wider supply chain and internal departments to ensure joined-up processes
Strengthen sustainability, traceability and responsible sourcing within the supply base
Manage tendering, contract negotiation and onboarding of suppliers
Ensure effective use of ERP systems for purchasing and reporting
Track procurement KPIs, savings and supplier performance
Build strong supplier partnerships that support innovation and continuous improvement
Lead supplier reviews, audits and corrective actions
Proactively assess and mitigate supply-related risks
Coach and develop the procurement team, championing accountability and continuous learning
Support cross-functional projects and wider business initiatives
Maintain compliance with procurement policies, financial controls and ethical standards
Support both internal and external audit requirements
Drive process improvement and introduce best practice across the functionBenefits & Package
