Production Team Leader - Coventry
£31,900 - £36,000
Monday - Friday (Day Shift)
20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension Scheme
A brilliant opportunity has opened up for a hands-on Production Team Leader to join a privately-owned food processing business in the Coventry area. They supply some of the UK's leading retailers and manufacturers.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Lead, support, and motivate a team of 25-30 operatives in a fast-paced, high-care production environment.
* Take an active role in daily production activities to ensure consistent output and quality standards.
* Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, throughput, and downtime.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process efficiency and equipment performance.
* Maintain compliance with all food safety and regulatory standards.
* Conduct basic machinery adjustments and maintenance (e.g., film changes).
* Work closely with production planning and management teams to optimise schedules and workflow.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Proven background in food manufacturing, ideally within a supervisory or team leadership role (minimum 3 years).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, develop, and manage diverse teams.
* Hands-on experience in a high-care or chilled food production setting.
* Food Safety Level 3 qualification (advantageous).
* Track record of progression from operative to supervisor/team leader (highly desirable).
* Comfortable managing teams of 50-80 people in a dynamic environment.
