QHSE Manager / HSE Manager / Quality Manager (Manufacturing, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)

Overview

Ready to take full ownership of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental performance in a modern manufacturing environment?

We are recruiting a QHSE Manager (also suitable for candidates with HSE Manager or Quality Manager backgrounds) to lead compliance, continuous improvement, and cultural change at a recently upgraded production facility in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

This is a highly visible role offering real autonomy, where you will influence operational standards, drive improvements, and embed best practice across the business.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the full QHSE function within a manufacturing setting.

You will act as the subject matter expert for quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring systems are not only maintained but continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Manage and enhance the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, including risk assessments and policy development

Conduct root cause analysis (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys) and implement corrective and preventive actions

Manage internal audits, non-conformance processes, and customer complaints

Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors

Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the site

Requirements

Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment (essential)

Background as a QHSE Manager, HSE Manager, EHS Manager, or Quality Manager

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 desirable)

NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential

Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
