The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a well-established company, with nearly 60 years of experience. The business is a growing company, who design and manufacture specialist equipment, across many different sectors.
Quality Engineer Salary, Hours and Benefits
* £38,000 - £40,000
* Hours 8:30am – 5:00pm, 4pm finish on Friday’s (flexi-hours are available)
* 30 days holiday, increasing to 33 days with service
* 4x salary – Death in service
Commutable From: Boston, Peterborough, Stamford, Bourne, Wisbech, Grantham, Melton Mowbray
Role Function
* The business is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to oversee their quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* You will champion quality improvement initiatives, manage risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to enhance product and service quality.
Quality Engineer Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a quality engineering, assurance or management role within the manufacturing industry.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude toward identifying and solving problems, with a track record of implementing successful solutions.
* Capable of working calmly and efficiently under pressure, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and to meeting deadlines.
* Possesses strong prioritisation skills, balancing immediate tasks with long-term business objectives.
Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
* Oversee all activities related to quality assurance across the business. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the success implementation of best practices and policies.
* Champion quality improvement initiatives throughout the organisation. Lead quality improvement projects, especially those arising from customer concerns and feedback. Ensure root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented.
* Establish and communicate clear quality compliance objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure these objectives are met, driving performance and process improvements.
* Ensure adherence to all relevant national and international standards, regulations, and legal requirements, particularly ISO 9001:2015, ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, and IECEx standards.
* Lead compliance with ATEX and IECEx Directives, ensuring all relevant products, systems, and processes meet the required safety and quality standards for explosive atmospheres. Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage risks associated with explosive environments.
* Serve as the company’s representative for all quality-related issues, ensuring full compliance. Be the main contact for external auditors during audits and compliance.
* Work with external suppliers to ensure products meet the company’s quality standards. Collaborate with clients to ensure that service delivery meets and exceeds expectations, particularly regarding safety and compliance in explosive environments.
* Assess the results of quality assurance activities and make data-driven recommendations for significant changes in manufacturing processes, technology, raw materials, or suppliers to improve overall quality and efficiency.
* Ensure all necessary documentation, records, and evidence are organised and readily available for external auditors. This includes maintaining up-to-date records of all quality assurance activities and compliance measures.
