About the Role:
Optima Plus Recruitment is proudly recruiting on behalf of a valued client for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join a newly opening children’s home in Staffordshire.
You’ll be supporting children and young people aged 5–18 in a high-quality residential setting, helping those who have experienced trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or additional learning needs to build brighter futures. This is a rewarding and varied role, perfect for someone who is caring, resilient, and passionate about making a genuine difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive home environment.
*
Provide emotional, practical, and personal support, promoting independence and wellbeing.
*
Support young people in daily routines and community activities, encouraging social and emotional development.
*
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
*
Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver consistent, trauma-informed care.
*
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism.
*
Build trusting, supportive relationships to promote confidence and self-esteem.
*
Demonstrate understanding of Ofsted regulations and quality standards for children’s homes.
What We’re Looking For:
*
Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care with 6+ months UK-based social care experience (essential).
*
Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred).
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (preferred).
*
Right to work in the UK (essential – no COS available).
*
Caring, honest, and hardworking attitude, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people.
