SATs Specialist – Raise Standards Across Derby Pay: £180–£230 per day Are you an experienced Year 6 teacher with a proven track record of delivering SATs success? Do you know the current curriculum inside out and thrive on helping pupils exceed expectations? Classroom Recruiters, in partnership with a range of Derby schools, is seeking an outstanding SATs Specialist to deliver targeted intervention and booster sessions. You’ll play a critical role in driving attainment and preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments—ensuring no child is left behind. Position: SATs Specialist Location: Various primary schools across Derby Start Date: Immediate and upcoming vacancies available Pay: £180–£230 per day Areas We Cover We are currently supporting schools in Chaddesden, Alvaston, Normanton, Oakwood, Allestree, Mickleover, Littleover, Spondon, Long Eaton, Melbourne, Chellaston, Sunnyhill, and Sinfin. Opportunities include long-term, short-term, part-time, and day-to-day placements. What to Expect from the Role As a dedicated SATs Specialist, you will work primarily with Year 6 pupils, delivering focused interventions in English and maths to prepare them for their Key Stage 2 SATs. You’ll lead small, ability-based groups and work closely with class teachers to identify learning gaps and accelerate pupil progress. This role is not just about boosting scores—you are the key to the school’s success. Your input directly affects progress measures and pupil confidence. What You Must Bring * Minimum 1 full academic year of Year 6 teaching experience (ideally more) * In-depth understanding of the current KS2 curriculum and SATs requirements * Strong ability to analyse pupil data, identify gaps in learning, and deliver targeted SATs-focused interventions * A commitment to excellence, high expectations, and measurable outcomes Working Hours Your working timetable will depend on the role and the school, with flexibility to suit both full and part-time availability. We offer long-term, short-term, and day-to-day SATs Specialist roles. Planning may or may not be required depending on how the school structures their intervention sessions. You’ll be supported throughout by both Classroom Recruiters and the school itself, allowing you to focus on maximising your teaching impact. SLT guidance and ECT cover time are built in where relevant, and your wellbeing and workload will always be considered. Qualifications Required * QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification Interview Process * Stage 1: Informal discussion with Head of Year or Deputy Head about your Year 6 and SATs experience * Stage 2: School visit and possible observation or trial booster session * Stage 3: Final offer and start date agreed – some roles available for immediate start This is more than a booster role.
