A well-respected school in Bolton is seeking a committed and highly organised School Business Manager to join their team on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible. Reporting to: Senior School Business Manager
Role Overview:
You will support the Senior School Business Manager in the effective running of the school's business functions. This is a varied and rewarding role that involves working across finance, HR, premises, and general school operations to ensure smooth day-to-day management.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with financial processes, including budgeting, invoicing, and monitoring expenditure
Supporting HR administration, safeguarding checks, recruitment paperwork, and staff records
Helping to manage contracts, suppliers, and procurement activities
Providing data, reports, and analysis to senior leaders
Overseeing general office functions and supporting wider administrative teams
Ensuring compliance with school policies, health & safety requirements, and statutory reporting
About You:
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in school administration or finance (SIMS/FMS experience desirable but not essential)
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident working with numbers and data
A strong communicator who can liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Professional, reliable, and proactive in their approach
