Job Description
Aligra are on the lookout for a reliable and skilled Caretaker to join a busy secondary school team throughout the Summer Holidays. You’ll keep the school safe, clean, and well-maintained, using your handyman and communication skills.
This role will be perfect for somebody who enjoys DIY, has previous experience in a similar role, and who would like a consistent role through to September.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out general maintenance and repair tasks around the school buildings and grounds
* Painting, decorating, and touch-ups to keep the school looking fresh and welcoming
* Basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work as needed
* Reporting any health and safety issues or building faults
* Assisting with grounds maintenance when required
You’ll need:
* Experience in handyman tasks such as painting, decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work
* Good practical skills and the ability to work independently
* A proactive, can-do attitude and a keen eye for detail
* Reliable and trustworthy with a good work ethic
* Basic health and safety awareness
* Flexibility to work two different shifts
Experience
* Previous experience in a caretaking or similar role is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
Hours:
Monday to Friday
9am to 5pm
You will need to have the flexibility to cover 6am to 2pm or 11:30am to 7:30pm if required. (Notice would be given in such situations)
Pay:
£13.21 per hour
