Science Teacher – Alternative Provision

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
 Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
 Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to inclusive education and wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who thrive with the right support, encouragement, and consistency.

The Role

You will:

Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Autism and SEMH needs
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
Encourage curiosity, practical learning, and student participation
Support students to build confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
Work closely with pastoral teams, teaching assistants, and families
Contribute to a therapeutic and relationship-focused approach to education

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
Has experience teaching Science at secondary level
Understands the challenges faced by students with additional needs
Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
Can build strong relationships and inspire disengaged learners
Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Is passionate about helping every student achieve their potential
