Job Title: Science Teacher

Location: Nottingham

Start Date: Jan 2026

Duration: TBC (Maternity Cover)

Shift Pattern: Full Time

Salary: Teacher Pay Scale Compliant

School Details:

This school is a small to medium sized secondary school covering KS3 up to and including A Level. It holds an Ofsted grading of ‘Good’ and has held this grading for almost a decade. The school benefits from having an experienced and motivated SLT who are known for their ambition and for providing the relevant support and guidance to teachers and pupils to attain their targets. The school has a modern building with modern amenities as well as excellent teaching resources.

Vacancy Details:

  * Teacher of General Science (Chemistry, Physics and Biology)

  * Full time role starting in Jan 2026 (or preferably before this point depending on applicant availability)

  * Liaising with head of department to ensure that teaching standards are in line with expectations set within the science faculty

  * Possibility of requirement to support a form/tutor group

  * Attendance at parents evenings and departmental meetings expected

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

  * Experience of teaching at least one science discipline, preferably all three

  * Holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) proven by providing your Teacher Reference Number

  * Experience of working as a teacher in a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms since obtaining QTS.

  * Full enhanced DBS certificate

  * Completion of the Merit Education Onboarding Process

  * The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teacher.

  * A minimum of 2 school based references
