SEN Teacher – Autism Resource Provision (ARP) Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Full-time, permanent Location: Hackney Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hackney is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join its specialist Autism Resource Provision (ARP) from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established provision that supports pupils with autism and a range of additional needs, ensuring high-quality personalised learning and strong outcomes. The Role The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, tailored support strategies, and a nurturing learning environment for pupils accessing the ARP. You will work closely with the school’s SEN team, external specialists, and parents to ensure that every pupil receives the support needed to make excellent progress academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, adapted lessons aligned with the national curriculum and tailored to pupils’ individual needs. Use personalised teaching strategies and specialist approaches to support autistic learners. Establish clear learning objectives and maintain ongoing assessment to track and support pupil progress. Create and maintain safe, autism-friendly learning environments that promote independence. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, specialist staff, and wider school colleagues. Develop strong relationships with parents and carers, supporting pupil development both in and beyond school. Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, provision maps, and personalised timetables. Participate in staff training, professional development, and relevant local network meetings. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and equal opportunities across the provision and the wider school. Person Specification Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Proven experience supporting pupils with autism within a primary setting Strong understanding of SEN policy, the SEND Code of Practice, and assessment for pupils working below age-related expectations Ability to inspire, support and challenge pupils with a wide range of needs Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals Resilience, empathy, and a reflective approach to practice Desirable: Experience line-managing support staff Familiarity with writing and delivering Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Why Join This School?
