Part-Time SEN Teacher (3 Days per Week)

Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
We're looking for an exceptional Part-Time SEN Teacher to join our specialist provision, where every child is valued, understood, and encouraged to achieve their fullest potential.
The Role
As a Part-Time SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored learning experiences for small groups of pupils with a variety of special educational needs. The majority of students you will work with present with ASD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your creativity, patience, and positive energy will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers and engage meaningfully in their learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP targets.
Adapting teaching approaches based on individual cognitive, emotional, and sensory needs.
Using visual supports, structured routines, and evidence-based strategies for pupils with ASD.
Working 1:1 or with groups of 4-8 learners depending on the class setup.
Implementing strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and independence.
Collaborating closely with the SENCO, therapists, and class-based support staff.
Using assessment data to track progress and create personalised learning pathways.
Communicating effectively with parents and carers to ensure continuity and consistency.What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is not just a teacher, but a mentor, motivator, and champion for SEN learners.
Essential:
QTS, QTLS, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience working within an SEN environment (mainstream SEN or specialist).
Strong behaviour regulation strategies and trauma-informed practice.
A nurturing, calm, and resilient approach.Desirable:
Experience working with children with ASD (highly desirable).
Knowledge of PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, or similar communication/structured teaching methods.
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, MLD/SLD, or sensory needs.
