SEN Teacher – Alternative Provision (Primary & Secondary)
Location: West Drayton, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time
We are currently looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join an Alternative Provision setting supporting pupils across both Primary and Secondary age ranges.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people with additional needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges within a nurturing and supportive environment that strongly focuses on mental health, wellbeing, and emotional development.
The Role:
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, pastoral teams, and external professionals
• Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils across both Primary and Secondary age groups
• Monitor pupil progress and support the development of EHCP targets and learning outcomes
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and independence
• Support personal care needs where required
What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or proven SEN teaching experience
• Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
