About the Role:
Timeplan Education is seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team in a long-term supply capacity. This rewarding role will be based in a large SEN school in Exeter, catering to secondary pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The students, who learn at a primary level, require a compassionate and adaptable teacher to support their educational journey.
As an SEN Teacher, you will provide cover across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, and Humanities, wherever there is a planned absence or PPA cover needed. Your ability to engage and inspire students with diverse learning needs will be key to their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities) to secondary pupils learning at a primary level.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with MLD, ASD, and SEMH.
Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to parents and caregivers.
Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly MLD, ASD, and SEMH.
Strong knowledge of primary-level curriculum and ability to teach across various subjects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.Benefits:
