Full‑Time SEN Teaching Assistant – EYFS (Autism, Non‑Verbal) – Birmingham B45, Frankley Green

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for pupils with Autism, including those who are non‑verbal.
This is a full‑time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a nurturing school environment.
🏫 The Role
* Deliver 1:1 support for non‑verbal pupils with Autism, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
* Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, AAC tools, and visual timetables to aid learning and interaction
* Lead and assist with small group interventions to support social, emotional, and academic development
* Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and wider staff to ensure inclusive practice and tailored learning plans
* Create a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence, confidence, and progress for every child
✅ Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience supporting pupils with Autism and SEN in a UK primary or EYFS setting
* Strong knowledge of non‑verbal communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, AAC tools)
* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
* A fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
