SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in a nurturing, creative environment where your empathy, resilience, and playfulness can change a child's life? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in Enfield.
Join a warm and welcoming primary school with a truly supportive leadership team and a deeply collaborative ethos. The school is inclusive, child-centred and forward-thinking — dedicated to helping every child flourish.
We are looking for a highly experienced SEN TA to work 1:1 with a bright and energetic Year 5 girl who is currently struggling with emotional regulation and challenging behaviour. She learns best through play and active engagement, and needs someone who can connect with her creatively and patiently — both inside and outside the classroom.
This is not your typical classroom role. You’ll be working flexibly across settings, keeping the pupil engaged through movement, tailored learning, and social-emotional activities while helping her feel safe and confident to eventually reintegrate with peers.
You must be
• Experienced in working with children with SEMH needs
• Physically active and emotionally literate
• A great communicator, full of empathy and quick to spot emotional cues
• Patient, playful and bursting with creative strategies
• Resilient, persistent, and genuinely committed to the long game
In return, you’ll be part of an inspiring staff team who value each other, share knowledge and lift one another up — all while making a real, lasting impact.
If you believe every child deserves the right support to thrive — this could be the perfect role for you.
