Senior Avionic Systems Engineer - Toulouse, France.
Our Aerospace client provides Integrated Modular Avionic platforms as their key product and serves as a tier 1 IMA systems integrator. The systems engineer is part of the multi-disciplinary IMA team and works consistently in practical and innovative ways for IMA platform, IMA product and IMA configuration system development, including but not limited to new Part 25 civil aircraft programs that are in a design phase currently.
Responsibilities:
Generate, maintain and update IMA platform, product and configuration system requirement and design along with system development process based on project needs.
Design and architect system using trade studies.
Develop and maintain system level planning documents per industry standard and company process.
Develop IMA platform, products, configuration validation approach and activities.
Lead in the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments.
Develop and lead action plans to anticipate and respond to complex problems which need cross team coordination.
Develop the knowledge and competency of fellow engineers within assigned technical and program management areas.
Manage life-cycle data of system development via configuration management tool.
Manage the execution of the tasks to meet the project schedule, cost, scope as well as ensure qualities..
Mentor and influence others to produce approaches to meet the technical and program requirements.
Improve technical capability of team and individual thru mentoring, coaching and lecturing.
In-region technical communication with customer to define and negotiate IMA platform, product and configuration system development to support our client's preferred solution.
Work in collaboration with safety team and certification Key Technical Authority (KTA) to ensure the safety and certification objectives have been met per project needs.
Work in collaboration with different time-zone engineering team to achieve the final assigned goal.
Identify program risk and develop corrective actions for the causes that may impact program milestones.
Participate as the presenter or reviewer in both client and customer milestone reviews and certification authority engagement and audit meetings.Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 8 years of technical and / or engineering development experience.
Systems engineering experience with a safety critical system on a FAR Part 25 aircraft.
Experience in aircraft avionic level requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements management, validation, systems integration, verification and certification.
Experience with IMA development and solid understanding of ARP 4754A, DO-297 and ARP 4761.
Experiences with ARINC 653, ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC825 and related aviation standards.
Proven ability to proactively define solutions to technical problems, develop plans to implement and the aptitude to guide others through implementation.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
English language skills.Qualifications Desired:
Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Minimum of 6 years’ experience developing aircraft or avionics products.
Experience developing Interface Control Documentation for Avionic Systems.
Experience with civil aviation development standards such as SAE ARP 4761, DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.
Experience developing and managing requirements for aircraft systems.
Experience with program bidding, pursuit and joint development leading towards contract award.
Experience with post Type Certification project including customer support and / or product sustaining
Ability to achieve results in a matrix environment.
Strong executive presence and highest level of accountability and integrity.
Project scheduling experience and budget estimation experience.This role is offered on a Permanent basis and will be located in Toulouse, France.
