This role offers far more than just cleaning ductwork. As a senior figure within the operations team, you will take responsibility for leading engineers on site, overseeing complex ventilation projects, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, and maintaining the highest possible standards of health, safety, and customer care. What You’ll Be Doing In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ventilation system cleaning, disinfection, and compliance works in line with industry standards, including TR19®, BS EN 15780, and HTM 03-01. Your responsibilities will include: Leading on-site teams of ventilation hygiene technicians, ensuring all work is delivered to exacting standards. Carrying out and overseeing cleaning and disinfection of supply and extract ductwork systems, air handling units (AHUs), and kitchen extract systems. Supporting fire damper testing and remedial works. Conducting visual inspections, compliance checks, and microbial testing where required. Managing site documentation, including risk assessments, engineers’ reports, and pre- and post-cleaning evidence. Liaising directly with clients, providing technical support and clear communication at all stages of the project. Mentoring and developing junior team members, ensuring best practices are consistently applied. Maintaining equipment, tools, and PPE to professional standards. Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH and Working at Height regulations. This is a role where no two days are the same – you will be working on a wide variety of sites nationwide, from hospitals and schools through to commercial kitchens and industrial facilities. About You To succeed in this position, you will need to be a practical, hands-on leader with a strong track record in ventilation hygiene and ductwork cleaning. You will be confident supervising teams, managing projects, and working directly with clients. Essential experience and qualifications include: At least 3 years’ experience in ventilation hygiene or ductwork cleaning. A solid understanding of TR19® standards. A valid CSCS card. A full UK driving licence. Strong technical knowledge of ventilation systems and associated hygiene practices. Previous team leadership or supervisory experience. Awareness of HTM 03-01 standards, particularly within healthcare settings. Asbestos Awareness certification (UKATA or similar). Above all, you will be compliance-driven, detail-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional results. Skills We’re Looking For Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting. Confidence reading technical drawings and site schematics. Competence with digital reporting tools and tablets/apps. Clear, professional communication skills – both written and verbal. Ability to manage projects to agreed scopes of work and budgets. What’s in It for You? This is not just another engineering role – it’s an opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career with a company that values its people. You will receive: A competitive salary, overtime opportunities, and bonus schemes. A company van, fuel card, and expense card. 22 days holiday (plus bank holidays). Pension scheme. Full uniform and PPE provided. Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and progress your career. The chance to work with a highly experienced and supportive team, on varied projects across the UK. Working Conditions The role involves nationwide travel with some overnight stays, and flexibility is required as some projects will be delivered outside of standard working hours (early mornings, nights, and weekends). It can be physically demanding at times, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and within dusty or dirty environments – full PPE and equipment will be provided. Why Apply? This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to step up into a senior role, taking ownership of complex projects and leading teams within a fast-growing and highly respected compliance business.
