Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor | Residential & Mixed-use | Kensington | Nov 2025

An opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a main contractor recognised for delivering prime residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across London.

Based in Kensington, you'll take full commercial ownership of high-spec refurbishment and conversion schemes, overseeing all financial, contractual, and procurement activities while leading a small commercial team.

This role would suit someone confident running projects autonomously, with strong experience in design & build and high-end refurbishment, and the ability to manage both site and pre-construction commercial functions.

The Role
•  Take full commercial responsibility for multiple upper specification residential and refurbishment projects in Central London
 (£5m£25m)
•  Manage procurement, subcontractor packages, and valuations through to final account
•  Lead cost reporting, forecasting, and CVRs across live projects
•  Oversee and mentor Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyors as part of the commercial team
•  Support pre-construction and tendering with cost planning and subcontractor input
•  Work closely with the Project Manager and Design Manager to ensure delivery, quality, and profitability

•  710 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
•  Proven track record delivering high-end residential or mixed-use refurbishment projects
•  Strong knowledge of design & build contracts and cost control
•  Able to work independently and lead a small commercial team
•  Confident communicator with clients, consultants, and site teams
•  Detail-driven, commercially astute, and proactive in problem-solving
