A Day in the Role
A typical day as a Senior Support Worker may include:

Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when required
*
Supporting the team of Residential Care Workers with mandatory training and individual development
*
Communicating with the on-site team about individual care plans and their implementation
*
Maintaining accurate records for monitoring and evaluation
*
Contributing to team and staff meetings to enhance communication and development
*
Providing direct support and care to young people
*
Supporting young people’s engagement with education
*
Assisting with travel to and from school or college
*
Preparing meals and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment
*
Organising and facilitating social activities

Requirements

Full UK driving licence
*
Desire to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
*
12 months of senior experience in a residential setting is desirable, but applications from those earlier in their career are welcome
DBS and reference checks will be conducted in line with government regulations and safer recruitment practices. The recruitment process may take time due to these essential checks.
