Job Description

Children’s Residential Care Worker

Location: Stourbridge, DY8
Contract Type: Full Time or Part Time
Salary: £23,000 – £28,000 per annum
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Fixed Term

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, patient, and resilient Children’s Care Worker to join our dedicated team supporting young people aged 8 - 18 in a nurturing residential environment.
You will play a vital role in helping children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or emotional and behavioural difficulties to feel safe, valued, and empowered to build positive futures.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to children and young people.

  * 

    Help young people develop independence and life skills through positive routines and activities.

  * 

    Support education, health, and wellbeing in line with individual care plans.

  * 

    Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.

  * 

    Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.

  * 

    Work collaboratively with social workers, teachers, and other professionals.

  * 

    Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care.

About You

  * 

    Compassionate, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with young people.

  * 

    Experience working with children or young people in a residential, educational, or community setting.

  * 

    Understanding of trauma, attachment, and emotional regulation.

  * 

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  * 

    Flexible and able to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

  * 

    A relevant qualification, but full training will be provided for the right candidate
