Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Tamworth Permanent Overview EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Tamworth that is currently in the market for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join their company on a Permanent basis. This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components. Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to enhance overall supplier performance, ensure IATF16949 compliance, and drive continuous improvement within the supply base. What's in it for you? * Stability / Longevity: Be part of a well-established market leader with a rich history. * Competitive salary: Negotiable * Hours: Days As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be responsible for: * Developing and maintaining the OE supplier base to the highest standards of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) * Utilising APQP and PPAP processes for new and existing projects on externally sourced components and subcontracted processes * Liaising with suppliers to ensure products and processes meet engineering specifications and customer-specific requirements * Driving the resolution of quality issues using appropriate problem-solving methodologies and initiating rapid containment actions for non-conformances * Conducting supplier visits and audits, maintaining relevant supplier records, and driving supplier development activities * Carrying out internal system and process audits related to Quality & Environmental Management systems (IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001) and monitoring supplier performance Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate: * Familiarity and hands-on experience with quality systems, including balanced scorecards, 8Ds, 5 Whys, and process improvement * A strong engineering background with the ability to interpret geometric tolerances and understand complex engineering drawings * Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in metal industries such as casting, forging, or pressing * An understanding of quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, and PFMEAs * A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, with the ability to take on tasks independently * A full driving license for supplier visits If you are interested in the opportunity of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and believe you meet the illustrated criteria, apply today to join our clients' growing team located in Tamworth.
