SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting on behalf of a 3-form entry primary school in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.
They are looking for a teaching assistant to work with a year 1 pupil on a 1:1 basis. The pupil has Autism.
Key responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support during lessons, playtime and activities.
Assist the student with all aspects of class work and learning, including breaking down of instructions and help maintaining focus.
Use simple, structured strategies to support communication and emotional regulation.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to plan and review progress.
Encourage independence and celebrate small steps of growth.
Keep clear and supportive notes about learning and behaviour when needed.
About you:
Experience as a teaching assistant, particularly Autism
A patient, warm and consistent approach to behaviour and communication.
Ability to build trust and positive relationships
Good listening skills and clear communication with staff and families.
Willingness to learn new approaches (training will be provided).Next steps..
