Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND)

📍 Location: Sale, Greater Manchester
 📅 Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
 💰 Salary: Dependent on experience (NJC Scale / pro-rata)

We are seeking a compassionate, patient and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive SEND school community in Sale. Our school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils aged [insert age range, e.g., 4-19] with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.

The Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with individual learning programmes under the guidance of class teachers and therapists

Help create an engaging, inclusive and safe learning environment

Promote independence, confidence and positive communication in every child

Assist with personal care and behaviour support where needed

Work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to support each pupil's progress

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school or other settings)

Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting learning and development

Is able to work collaboratively within a team

Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
