Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Position (Immediate or January Start)
Location: Bournemouth
Hours: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Age Group: 5–18
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive educational setting. This is a full-time role with an immediate or January start, working with students aged 5–18 who have a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Physical Disabilities (PD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can succeed. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Your Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD, PD, PMLD, and SLD
Assisting teachers in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Implementing strategies to encourage engagement and participation in lessons
Supporting students in developing resilience, confidence, and independence
Administering medication safely when required (training provided)
Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure consistent support
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Minimum 6 months of childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN needs
Experience administering medication or working in a hospital/medical setting is highly desirable
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to learning support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
