Teaching Assistant (Supply / Ad Hoc Cover)
Sheffield Area | Part-Time Flexible Work | EYFS - Key Stage 2
Start Date: September 2026

Tradewind Recruitment are looking to appoint adaptable and committed Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools across the Sheffield area from September 2026. This role offers flexible, ad hoc supply work on a part-time basis, providing classroom support when schools require additional staffing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who enjoys variety, different school environments, and the flexibility that supply work brings.

Role Overview

In this position, you will be working across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 settings, stepping into classrooms as needed to provide high-quality support. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Working with pupils one-to-one and in small groups to enhance learning outcomes
Assisting across a range of primary year groups from EYFS through to KS2
Providing support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Quickly adapting to different school policies, routines, and expectations

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
Confidence supporting pupils with SEND, including a range of additional needs
Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approach
Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups at short notice
A Level 2 TA qualification or higher (desirable but not essential)
A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning and developmentExperience within schools is highly valued and will be considered more important than formal qualifications for this role.
