Technical Author (BEMM)
5-month initial contract
Essex - 4 days pw onsite
£33.81ph (Inside IR35), 37.5 hrs pw

About the company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of an automotive OEM, based in Essex, who are seeking a Technical Author to join their team
Job Description
As Technical Author, your main responsibilities are:
Technical Author for Body & Equipment Mounting Manuals (BEMM).
Using a documented authoring method, update or create new technical content in Adobe In-Design.
Use 3D CAD data from TeamCentre / VisMockup to create layered images in Adobe Photoshop and generate new content that explains the issue / changes with annotations as required.
Import the new images/content into Adobe In-Design and create a draft BEMM document for review.
Use the draft BEMM to consolidate input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and agree the content for publication.
When required, facilitate cross-functional discussions to broker an agreed consensus.
Qualifications / Skills needed
Must be familiar with Class Styles, Anchoring & Hyperlinks, Tables and Image flattening as a minimum.
Expert in Adobe In-Design.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Catia 5, TeamCentre, VisMockup, SharePoint, Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Outstanding communication skills, both written & oral.
Awareness of language translations when creating new content.
Prior experience of the Clients' systems/tools.
