Role: Technical Operations & IT Project Lead – Biotech/Pharma
Location: UK – Guilford
Duration: 9 Months
Day Rate: Competitive – Outside IR35

Chapman Tate Associates are proud to partner with a leading biotech organisation seeking a Technical Operations & IT Project Lead to drive innovation across their UK and European operations.

This pivotal role bridges engineering, IT, and operations, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of processes, systems, and equipment from R&D through to manufacturing. You’ll play a key part in deploying clinical information technologies, leading cross-functional project teams, and collaborating with senior business leaders, vendors, and service partners to deliver technology solutions that enable operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  * Lead process and technology development from lab to manufacturing scale.

  * Oversee IT systems design, deployment, validation, and compliance activities.

  * Manage project plans, resources, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.

  * Drive process improvement, technology transfer, and equipment validation.

  * Act as a bridge between business, IT, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

  * Support vendor management, change control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience Required

  * 10+ years’ leadership experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

  * Proven background in process development, IT implementation, or R&D project delivery.

  * Strong understanding of system validation, change control, and technology transfer.

  * Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  * PMP or similar project management certification advantageous.
