Job Description
Job Summary:
Our Client are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tendering Engineer with previous experience in 11kV to 33kV electrical transmission and distribution systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive bids and proposals in response to tenders and RFPs related to power distribution projects. This includes technical analysis, cost estimation, risk evaluation, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications etc for 11kV to 33kV electrical projects.
*
Develop comprehensive technical and commercial proposals in coordination with design, procurement, and execution teams.
*
Conduct load calculations, equipment sizing, cable selection, protection schemes, and layout preparation for HV electrical networks.
*
Prepare cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting for HV projects.
*
Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data.
*
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. IEC, IEEE), client requirements, and local utility regulations.
*
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical clarifications as required.
*
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risks and propose solutions.
*
Maintain updated knowledge of market rates, new technologies, and project costing methods.
*
Provide support during post-tender negotiations and contract award processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
*
3 – 7 years of relevant experience in tendering, design, or execution of 11kV to 33kV electrical systems.
*
Strong understanding of high voltage electrical systems, protection schemes, and utility interfaces.
*
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, Windebut, Amtech or similar).
*
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
