️ Trading Standards Officer – Local Authority (Contract)
📍 North West England | 💼 Full-Time | 🏠 Hybrid or Remote | 💷 £35–£40 per hour (umbrella) | 📅 6-Month Contract
We’re working with a well-regarded local authority in the North West who are looking for an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis.
🔍 The Role:
You’ll be responsible for enforcing a wide range of trading standards legislation, including fair trading, product safety, and consumer protection. The role involves inspections, investigations, and taking enforcement action where necessary.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Substantial experience in trading standards enforcement within a UK local authority
Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, Product Safety, Weights & Measures)
Ability to manage investigations and prepare legal files
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
CTSI qualification (DTS/DCATS) preferred
💼 Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)
Rate: £35–£40 per hour (umbrella, DOE)
Location: North West England
