Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead a high-performing transport function for a growing food manufacturer. This role is critical to ensuring products are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all orders are delivered on time and at the required quality
• Plan delivery routes and communicate schedules to drivers
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, standards, and compliance
• Manage accident reporting procedures and daily end-of-shift checks
• Support fleet maintenance, including servicing, MOTs, and repairs
• Act as the main point of contact for delivery drivers, providing leadership and development
• Monitor performance and drive cost-efficient improvements
• Work closely with senior management to achieve operational goals
• Maintain an organised, efficient, and safety-focused transport operation
About You:
• Proven experience in transport or logistics leadership, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG
• Holder of a valid Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Knowledge of fleet management, distribution planning, and compliance
• Commitment to high standards in quality, safety, and efficiency
• Ability to think strategically and deliver continuous improvement
• Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative approach
