Job Description

New Directions Liverpool is partnering with a small, one-form entry primary school in Crosby to recruit a passionate and committed primary school teacher for a full-time position in a Year 2 class. Weather you are an experienced educator or a newly qualified teacher, this role offers a unique opportunity to join a close-knit school community dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child.

The school has recently made a significant investment in expanding its outdoor learning provision, reflecting its commitment to innovative and holistic education. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ academic, social, and emotional development by integrating outdoor experiences into the curriculum.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons for a Year 5 class in line with the national curriculum
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
• Deliver daily phonics sessions, using the Read Write Inc. programme (training can be provided)
• Prepare pupils for the Year 5 phonics screening check with support from the KS2 Lead

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds (or is on track to achieve) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Is an Early Career Teacher looking to complete their induction
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges.
• Is committed to supporting pupils in early reading and phonics development

Requirements

• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
