The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver inspiring, engaging, and differentiated lessons in Year 5, covering all areas of the National Curriculum.

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure that all students are supported and challenged.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment where students feel safe, confident, and ready to engage in their learning.

Work closely with colleagues, subject leaders, and school leadership to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and the implementation of best practices.

Build strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and encouraging their involvement in the school community.

Contribute to the wider school life by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities.
Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

A strong understanding of the Year 5 curriculum and experience in delivering lessons that are both engaging and appropriately challenging.

Proven ability to assess pupil progress, use data effectively to inform planning, and implement appropriate differentiation to meet the needs of all learners.
*
Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create an environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and engagement.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

A commitment to professional development, reflective practice, and contributing to the school’s ethos and collaborative culture.
