The Role:
As the school’s Year 6 Teacher, you will lead a well-behaved and motivated class through their SATs and transition to secondary school. This is a critical year, and the school is looking for someone with strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom practice, and the ability to build confidence and resilience in pupils.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across KS2 to ensure consistency and continuity in curriculum delivery, assessment, and pupil support.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the Year 6 National Curriculum, with a focus on preparing pupils for KS2 SATs.

Support the academic, emotional, and social development of all pupils.

Assess, monitor, and track progress effectively, using data to inform teaching and intervention.

Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages responsibility and independence.
*
Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support pupil outcomes.
*
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school events, clubs, and trips.
What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – required.
*
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally with prior Year 6 experience.

Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
*
Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.

A reflective and proactive approach to teaching.
*
Commitment to supporting every child’s learning journey and wellbeing.
