Job Description

Job Title: Level II/III Helpdesk Technician Location: Rochdale A brilliant opportunity to join a growing team! Our client is a well-established Managed Service Provider based in Rochdale, known for delivering high-quality IT support and solutions to a diverse client base. As they continue to grow, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Helpdesk Technician to strengthen their internal support function. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3+ years’ experience who enjoys variety, mentoring junior colleagues, and providing outstanding customer service. Position details: Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience Benefits: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, training and development, friendly and supportive team culture Role overview: This role is ideal for a Level II/III Technician with at least three years experience in an IT helpdesk or support role. Youll be confident troubleshooting a range of technical issues across hardware, software, and networking, and be comfortable taking ownership of tasks while supporting others. Key responsibilities: * Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to internal users * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networking * Escalate complex issues where necessary and follow up to resolution * Mentor and support junior staff, including apprentices * Maintain accurate documentation of tickets, systems, and procedures * Support continuous improvement of IT systems and processes Experience and skills required: * Minimum 3 years experience in a similar IT support/helpdesk role * Strong technical knowledge of Windows environments and Office 365 * Basic networking understanding (routers, switches, VPNs, etc.) * Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach * Organised, reliable, and proactive * Full UK driving licence preferred Desirable: * Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL etc.) * Previous experience mentoring or training junior team member Please note: we can only accept applications from candidates who have the right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring visa sponsorship.
