Applications Engineer
📍 Location: Worcester (commutable from Birmingham, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and surrounding areas)
💰 Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE + Benefits
⏳ Hours: 37.5 per week (Flexitime available)
The Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer with expertise in Windows-based software development (C# & VB6) and automation systems. This role involves developing, modifying, and supporting software for complex automation, mechatronic, and data acquisition systems used in cutting-edge automotive and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop & modify C# control software using Visual Studio and CADET API.
Support legacy VB6 systems.
Diagnose & resolve software, electrical, and mechanical issues in automated systems.
Interface with 3rd party equipment using protocols like Ethernet, Serial, EtherCAT, CAN, Profibus.
Develop automation sequences and tests using CADET tools.
Provide remote and on-site support for customers and engineers.
Assist design & commissioning engineers to meet customer requirements.
Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket, and Jira.Ideal Candidate:
✅ Strong engineering background (electrical/control systems).
✅ Proficiency in C# & Visual Studio (VB6 experience beneficial).
✅ Experience with automation systems (sensors, actuators, inverters).
✅ Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Robotics Engineering with proven experience in automation.
✅ Ability to work on customer sites occasionally.
✅ Full UK driving licence.
