Job Description
A specialist equipment manufacturer in Abingdon is experiencing increased customer demand and is now seeking a Team Leader to support and guide a skilled team of Assembly Operatives. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in mechanical and electrical assembly, who is also confident leading and motivating a team in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a small team of operatives to ensure daily production targets and quality standards are met
Support with the wiring of systems and products using electrical drawings and technical instructions
Oversee and participate in the mechanical assembly of components and full systems
Train and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Monitor workflow, identify areas for improvement, and liaise with supervisors to resolve issues
Ensure all health, safety, and quality control procedures are followedSkills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in an assembly role, with strong wiring and hand soldering skills
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions
Effective communicator, able to coordinate across departments and with senior management
