Job Description
Established more than 50 years ago, Natta Building Company Ltd specialises in Building and Civil Engineering projects across the southern half of the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Estimator to join our commercial team as part of the Natta group. You will be working with the Commercial Director and the Estimating team in ensuring that the competitive costing of services provided by Natta meet the clients required scope of works.
Applicant's main tasks would be to:
1. Read drawings and technical documents and understand their content.
2. Measurement of simple building work.
3. Sending enquires and collecting quotes from materials suppliers and sub-contractors - quantities and specifications taken from drawings.
4. Compile tender documentation for subcontractor enquires.
5. Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities.
6. Researching materials, equipment, transport and labour costs.
7. Management of subcontractor enquiries.
8. Tender information control sheet.
9. Upload Client's tender documentation to Fonn (document control system).
10. Uploading Client's Bills of Quantities into Valesco Estimating System.
11. Creating Bills of Quantities from the Valesco library – generally SMM type.
12. Editing Client's Bills of Quantities.
13. Production and management of Tender folder.
14. Helping plan job timescales.
15. To monitor the stages of a project to make sure costs are kept in line with forecasts.
16. Any other tasks as deemed required by the Company.
We would expect candidates to have an analytical and organised approach to the tendering procedure, have solid attention to detail, work well under pressure and good communication skills.
