Job Description
The Company
This company is a highly regarded and respected privatised specialist sub-contractor within the RC Frames, Groundworks and Demolition sector as well as large infrastructure that have been established for over 50years. They have a current turnover of over £200m.
The Role
1. Procurement of subcontractors. Duties will include, collating all the necessary drawings and specifications and issuing to a select number of subcontractors. Analysing the quotations upon receipt and presenting the results.
2. General administrative duties will be required to “set up” a project”. This will entail a full range of site files set out in accordance with the company standards.
3. Each project will have its own set of Tender & Construction issue drawings, the Assistant Surveyor will be responsible for keeping an up to date collection of both, monitoring drawing issues through the project.
4. Monthly valuations will be prepared by the relevant QS for each project and the Assistant will have an integral role in their preparation. This will include re-measuring items and assisting with the valuation of variations.
5. Regular site visits will be required; during these visits the role will include collating all the returns & allocation sheets for subsequent costing.
6. Attend meetings and develop good working relationships with clients, contractors and our own site staff including site management teams.
The Requirements
* You must have commercial degree
* Ideally you will have at least 1 years’ experience as an Assistant QS in the Civils.
* Be driven and motivated to progress and develop your career.
